Team Aon delighted over strong finish

Team Aon has enjoyed a very strong final part of the season. Tom Chilton took pole for the final race of the year and came close to clinching the first victory for the team. Team boss Mike Earle is pleased with the season.
“Obviously this has been our best weekend of the season. It’s a bit like Christmas – sad when it’s over,” said Earle.

The Ford Focus of the team was brand new when the season started and Earle is confident for the performance of next year.

“Now we know we have a car that’s capable of great success for next year. We have planned a huge development programme through the winter to build on the already strong performance of the Ford Focus,” said Earle.

Tom Chilton, the lead driver of the team, finished in 13th position in the championship after scoring more than double the points in the two final races compared to the first eight races.

“Tom Chilton in particular has never let his head drop; even in the toughest of times and his results today are a just reward for his persistence,” said Earle.

The team constellation for next year is so far unconfirmed, stay tuned for more news on the subject.
