Vaulkhard looking to 2010, with Bamboo?

Harry Vaulkhard is looking ahead to the 2010 Touring Car season, investigating options and opportunities on the back of his success in the BTCC, and internationally after an impressive performance in the European Touring Car Cup – but hopes to be at Bamboo Engineering come the start of the season.

As Bamboo Engineering continue to prepare for 2010, Harry spoke exclusively to TouringCarTimes about his plans:
“I have never been in such a professional and well run team as bamboo, Although its a very young company it has an amazing amount of drive and loads of guys with loads of experience so it’s definitely a team I’d love to be involved with in 2010. At this time of year teams contact drivers about the coming season so I have spoken with others but bamboo is where I’d like to be at the moment.”

Asked if he’d look outside of the BTCC, Harry said:
“There are a lot of options out there and times are hard and friends are few, so I really have to pick the best option for my career as well as financially, I’ve really enjoyed being in the BTCC the last 2 seasons, the fans are fantastic and the racing is very close so it’s obviously a Championship I’d love to be in 2010, I really enjoyed the ETC also and was amazed at the doors it has opened to my career, it was a shame not to win after all the hard work but I’m sure I’ll have my day.”

With the Chevrolet Lacetti run by RML coming close to taking the title this year, Harry’s offered his thoughts on the Lacetti and the best cars to have in the BTCC this season:
“The Lacetti is undoubtedly a formidable opponent to any S2000 car and for me in the BTCC it is the weapon of choice although like all s2000 cars it has strong points and weak points which I think I’ve got my head around after the last two seasons. There are many cars that are quick in the BTCC but not many of them are strictly S2000”
