First pics from BTCC test at Thruxton

Five British Touring Car Championship teams gathered at Thruxton yesterday for a tyre test with Dunlop. West Surrey Racing, Team Dynamics, Motorbase, Special Tuning and Forster Motorsport were all present with at least one car. TouringCarTimes presents a picture special from the test in co-operation with PSP Images.

West Surrey Racing were present with two cars and three drivers. Reigning champion Colin Turkington shared car white and blue car with Alex MacDowall and Andy Neate drove the orange BMW.

“Alex was pretty impressive and we’re in good dialogue with him. Andy’s obviously itching to race again and has been associated with the team for some time now.

Both coped very well considering there was a huge mixture of weather and track conditions. For Colin it was a chance to shake off some of the rust. Clearly he’s not lost any of his touch and was stunning,” said team boss Dick Bennetts to BTCC.net.

Tom Boardman completed many laps in the Special Tuning SEAT Léon. Forster Motorsport had two drivers and two cars at Thruxton. Only one car was used as Martin Depper and Arthur Forster piloted the white BMW that previously has been owned by Mat Jackson.

Matt Neal was behind the wheel of the updated Team Dynamcis Honda Civic. Motorbase had one driver on the scene as well with Rob Collard doing the driving.
