Depper’s debut turns to dust

Forster Motorsport have confirmed that Martin Depper’s BTCC debut looks unlikely to happen this weekend thanks to the Icelandic volcano. The former Mini Challenge Champion is currently stranded in America with his family, and with air transport still in chaos thanks to volcanic dust, Depper looks unlikely to make it to Rockingham.

The news comes as a blow to Depper, who alongside teammate Arthur Forster, opted to miss the opening Thruxton rounds thanks to engine problems with their BMWs.

Forster will still make his BTCC debut this weekend as scheduled, while the Forster Motorsport team will prepare Depper’s BMW in the hope that flights resume and the Birmingham racer can make it to Rockingham in time for Saturday’s qualifying.
