MacDowell ready for home race

BTCC newcomer Alex MacDowell is getting ready for his home race, bouyed by the improved pace last time out at Oulton Park, despite a lot of bad luck.

The 19 year old from Carlisle will be hoping for a good result, after only picking up seven points at Oulton after being caught up in incidents.

MacDowell’s first target is to acheive that evasive first pole position, already succeeding in out-qualifying team mate Jason Plato in his only his second race at Rockingham, Alex is frustrated an error cost him pole at Oulton Park.

“We should really have had pole position for the first race at Oulton but I made a mistake on my best lap in the final sector and that made all the difference”, said Alex

“At Croft, I think we should be just as strong so I’m aiming to qualify on the front row – it’d be nice to take the pole we should have had at Oulton”.

“Last year I had a double pole, a win and a second place in Clios so I’m focused on trying to re-produce that sort of performance in the touring car.”
