Plato says Ford are unbeatable at Snetterton
Chevrolet-driver Jason Plato says that the Fords of Tom Chilton and Tom Onslow-Cole are unbeatable at Snetterton.
“If they [Arena] don’t destroy the opposition this weekend then they need to look very hard at themselves, their drivers and their engineers,” said Plato to Autosport.
Chilton was fastest at the recent official BTCC test at Snetterton with half a second, indicating the advantage of the turbocharged LPG engine of the Ford Focus at the long straights of Snetterton.
Plato says instead that he is aiming to be the best driver behind the Fords.
“My target is to be the first non-gas car,” said Plato.
Plato is second in the championship ahead of the BTCC weekend at Snetterton, eight points behind Matt Neal. The best placed Ford-driver is Tom Onslow-Cole in fourth position, 22 points behind the leader.
