AmD Milltek Racing to miss Silverstone

Shaun Hollamby’s Volkswagen Golf will be missing from the grid on race day after mechanical problems with the AmD Milltek Racing machine.

Hollamby had qualified 19th on the 22 car grid, but now only 21 cars will be taking part following Hollamby’s withdrawal.

The team confirmed on their twitter page:
“Thr (sic) timing belt jumped a tooth and made a mess inside the head. no more running for us this weekend.”

The team will still be present on race day due to sponsor commitments.

As a result, Phil Glew is promoted to 19th, despite not setting a time in qualifying – with Martin Depper & Martin Johnson scheduled to start in the final two positions.
