Forster Motorsport to miss Knockhill
Forster Motorsport are going to skip Knockhill to focus on repairing Martin Depper’s BMW, which was heavily damaged in a shunt with Alex MacDowall at Silverstone.
Martin Depper confirmed to BTCC.net that the team will be missing the race, to ensure the car is ready to compete at his home event at Donington Park on September 19th.
The damage occurred at the start of race three, as Alex MacDowall’s Chevrolet Cruze bogged down at the start, and Depper, right behind the 19-year old on the grid, went straight into the backcausing massive front end damage to his BMW, and considerable damage to the back of the Chevrolet.
Remarkably, MacDowall continued on and managed to recover to tenth place and pick up the final point of the day.
Forster Motorsport also missed the opening round of the championship at Thruxton as they waited on engines for their two BMW 320si’s.
The team are having a very testing first season in the championship, and are yet to score overall points this season, but are ninth (of 13) in the independents’ teams championship.
