MacDowall takes pole away from Honda
Alex MacDowall snatched pole position from the Honda pairing of Shedden and Neal, who had shown pace throughout the practice sessions.
The young driver, who sees Knockhill as his second home track after Croft, beat Gordon Shedden by less than a tenth of a second to pole position.
Matt Neal will line-up third on the grid, alongside the other Chevrolet Cruze of Jason Plato.
Steven Kane put the Airwaves BMW top off the independents qualifiers in fifth position, just ahead of Paul O’Neill in the Tech-Speed Honda Integra.
The two Team Aon Fords, despite being the fastest car through the speed traps in practice, haven’t been finding the Knockhill circuit to their liking, qualifying seventh and eighth respectively.
