Shedden leads Knockhill first Free Practice

The Honda Racing Team has had a strong opening practice session at Knockhill, with local driver Gordon Shedden fastest and Matt Neal third, sandwiching the Ford of Tom Chilton.

The Honda Racing Team has had a strong opening practice session at Knockhill, with local driver Gordon Shedden fastest and Matt Neal third, sandwiching the Ford of Tom Chilton.

All 18 cars took part in the session, though James Nash’s part in the session was curtailed due to a gearbox issue with the Triple Eight Vectra. New team mate Jeff Smith was 14th quickest.

Championship leader Jason Plato set the fourth fastest time, on full ballast, less than two-tenths of a second down on Shedden.

Tom Onslow-Cole’s Ford, carrying the most ballast it has had in a qualifying session ever, at 36kg, was a distant 12th just under a second behind.
