Ford presents the new Focus

Ford has presented the new “Global Touring Car” Ford Focus during the Geneva Motorshow today.
“This new BTCC Focus is the first result of a collaborative effort between Ford and race teams around the world that have already built and raced successful Focus race cars,” said Jost Capito, head of Ford Motorsport Business Development.

The Focus has been developed by Arena Motorsport in co-operation with Ford and is going to hit the track for the first time later this week at Oulton Park in the UK.

Arena Motorsport is going to field at least two Ford Focus cars in the British Touring Car Championship this year. Drivers are independents’ champion Tom Chilton, with former West Surrey Racing driver Andy Neate expected to be confirmed soon.

The car has been built according to the FIA S2000 regulations but will be powered by a Montune developed 2.0 turbo charged NGTC engine.
