RML keeps Alex MacDowall for 2011
Alex MacDowall is going to remain with RML Chevrolet in the British Touring Car Championship 2011.
“It’s fantastic to be staying with RML for my second year in touring cars, I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel of the Cruze and begin preparations for the new season,” said MacDowall.
MacDowall made his debut in the BTCC last year and finished ninth in the championship with a second place at Knockhill as his best finish.
“There were some amazing highlights last year and I learnt so much from RML’s Silverline Chevrolet Team and from being team-mate to Jason [Plato],” said MacDowall.
The 20-year-old is aiming for top six this season after a year with the Chevrolet Cruze under his belt.
“The aim for 2011 is regular podiums and, hopefully, wins too,” said MacDowall.
MacDowall was voted “Best Rookie” of BTCC 2010 in the TouringCarTimes Awards for his efforts during the past season.
“I’m also really pleased to have been voted as the top BTCC rookie last year by TouringCarTimes. It’s always nice to know you’ve got some good support and people have been taking notice of what you’ve been doing on track. I can’t wait now for the new season to start,” said MacDowall.
The first official outing for MacDowall with RML this season is going to be the test session during the BTCC Media Day at Silverstone on the 24th of March.
