Gilham picks up three top-tens on debut
Triple Eight’s new driver Tony Gilham had a great weekend to finish in the top ten in all three races, and the top classified ‘rookie’ in qualifying and every race.
The 31-year-old was at his home circuit this weekend, and was delighted to pick-up three consecutive points finishes.
“That was the aim before the weekend,” said Gilham.
“First race was very good, managed to pick up an eighth. Started eighth, finished tenth in the second race. We lost a couple of places but that’s the first experience of the bumping. It’s good experience though, it’s all about learning.”
As a result of his consistency, Gilham is now joint eighth in the championship standings with Alex MacDowall and Rob Collard, and fifth in the independents’ class.
