Plato set to miss race three after horror roll (pics)
Jason Plato looks set to miss the third race of the day at Donington Park, after a high speed roll caused severe damage to his Chevrolet Cruze.
Plato was caught up in a incident involving Liam Griffin’s Motorbase Performance Ford Focus and Gordon Shedden’s Honda, who had been dropped to the back of the grid after exceeding the permitted boost limit in race one.
Shedden and Griffin made contact, forcing Griffin into a spin which side-swiped Plato’s Cruze, which careered off circuit and rolled several times.
BTCC.net has reported that Plato will not be able to make the start of the race, which if so will mean a no score for the weekend for the 2010 champion, who suffered a puncture in race one.
Plato is already down to third place in the standings behind Matt Neal and James Nash, and is just one point ahead of Motorbase’s Mat Jackson.
