MacDowall calls for turbo equalisation

Chevrolet driver Alex MacDowall calls for equalisation between the normally aspirated engined cars and the turbo cars after the British Touring Car Championship race weekend at Donington Park.
“We definitely need more equalisation between the normally aspirated cars and the turbos but that will take time,” said MacDowall.

The young RML driver says there is nothing to do about the turbo engined cars getting past on the straights.

“It’s impossible to keep ahead of the turbo cars, the advantage they have is massive but we did the best we could with what we have this weekend. You really have to drive out of your zone to try and keep the turbos back and to then try and keep up with them when they pass, which you can’t prevent on the straights,” said MacDowall.

MacDowall managed to score points in all three races this weekend and is currently ninth in the championship, right behind independent Chevrolet driver Paul O’Neill.

“We’ve taken some good points away though this weekend, so there are definitely some positives for us. As always, the team did a fantastic job,” said MacDowall.
