Jordan happy to be top Vauxhall

Andrew Jordan will start second on the grid, the only driver to get close to the Hondas at Thruxton, with strong performances from both of the Eurotech Racing drivers.

Jordan will start second on the grid for the first race tomorrow, sandwiched between the two Honda Racing Team drivers.

It was a good session for Eurotech Racing, with Jordan’s team-mate Jeff Smith setting the seventh fastest time in the final moments of the session.

I’m very happy,” said Jordan to TouringCarTimes.

“To be the top Vauxhall and to be as close as we are to the Hondas we’re really really pleased with it. We hadn’t actually done a qualifying set-up or run until qualifying as we were working on our race set-up.”

The Vauxhalls were very aggressive over Thruxtons infamous kerbs, but Jordan admits they’ll have to calm down a bit on race day.

“We just need to look after the tyres in the race and look out for the kerbs initially, but in qualifying we had the tyre pressure so we could run the kerbs, but we’ll see tomorrow.”
