Toyota teams hoping for better results at Oulton
The two NGTC Toyota teams Speedworks Motorsport and Dynojet Racing hopes for better results as the BTCC resumes at Oulton Park this weekend.
“We have done a tremendous amount to the Toyota since Thruxton; in fact, it’s been like building a whole new car again,” said Dynojet racer Frank Wrathall.
The Toyota teams had a tough weekend at Thruxton five weeks ago where Speedworks did not turn up and Dynojet failed to finish all three races due to engine overheating problems.
“We need to get some race finishes under our belt and we have been doing a lot of dyno testing with the engine to try to trace the problems which afflicted us at Thruxton last month. Hopefully at Oulton Park we can pace ourselves and put in a solid showing,” said Wrathall.
Speedworks Motorsport driver Tony Hughes is eager to be back on track after missing out Thruxton due to accident damage from the earlier races at Donington Park.
“With Oulton Park on the horizon, Speedworks are working hard to have everything prepared as the BTCC moves up north,” said Hughes.
