Shaun Hollamby will hand over the reins

AmD Milltek Racing Team Principal Shaun Hollamby has confirmed he plans to step down and allow someone else to take over the Volkswagen Golf for the final five meetings of the season.

The 45-year-old from Kent got back behind the wheel for the latest round of the British Touring Car Championship after former driver Tom Onslow-Cole was offered a drive at his former team, Arena Motorsport.

Hollamby finished in all three races, matching his career best finish of 13th in the second race at the wet Yorkshire circuit.

“That is my time behind the wheel done. I’m happy with how the weekend has gone and I feel I’ve done myself justice, but now its time for us to look at the options and choose a younger driver to put in the car for the remainder of the season,” said Hollamby.

AmD Milltek Racing is understood to be testing several ex-BTCC drivers during the mid-season break, including another multiple BTCC race winner.
