Matt Neal breaks hand in Free Fighting accident
Two-time British Touring Car Champion Matt Neal has broken his right hand in a martial arts grading exercise on Sunday.
The Honda Racing Team driver, who currently sits third in the points standings, suffered the injury at a Second Dan Grading last weekend, and this morning was diagnosed with a broken hand at Sandwell General Hospital in West Bromwich.
The 2005-2006 champion confirmed on his Twitter feed:
“It’s not clean though, it is a fracture diagonally along one of the metacarpals about 3/4’s of the way through it.”
“I have to see the specialist again Friday before Knockhill. Gives me two and half weeks to rest and hope it’ll be OK.”
The next round of the championship is at the Knockhill circuit in Fife, Scotland on September 4th, in just over two weeks time.
