Tony Gilham leaves Triple Eight Race Engineering
Tony Gilham has left Triple Eight Race Engineering with immediate effect due to “commercial reasons”.
“I’m sorry that the relationship with Tony hasn’t worked out as both parties had hoped,” said Ian Harrison, Chairman of Triple Eight.
Gilham is currently placed 16th in the championship, with two eighth places as best result.
“He has driven well in what was always going to be a difficult first season for him in the BTCC. On behalf of Triple Eight I’d like to thank him for his contribution to the team and wish him well,” said Harrison.
Triple Eight is currently searching for a replacement driver for the remaining part of the 2011 BTCC season.
“Obviously we are now looking to fill the seat for the remainder of the season and will announce our plans in due course,” said Harrison.
