WSR aiming for podiums at Knockhill

2009 British Touring Car Championship winning team West Surrey Racing are hoping for a return to their pre-mid season break podium grabbing form at Knockhill this weekend with their BMW 320sis.

Current driver Rob Collard took his first ever BTCC career victory at the Fife circuit back in 2005 with West Surrey Racing’s MG-ZS, and will be hoping for a strong performance as will BTCC rookie Nick Foster in the sister normally aspirated BMW 320si.

“Although it will be hard to keep up with the turbo cars on the straights, we’ll be looking to use the eBay Motors BMW’s great handling to make up time under braking and in the corners,” said WSR Team Principal Dick Bennetts.

“If we can qualify well, we know that Rob and Nick can race well.”

Rob Collard sits eighth in the overall standings and fifth in the independents’ points, just behind Arena Motorsport driver Tom Chilton. Whilst team-mate Foster is the highest placed rookie in 12th overall, and seventh in the independent standings.
