Shedden tops first practice at Knockhill

Gordon Shedden started fastest in the first practice session at his home track Knockhill. The Honda driver lapped the wet track in 57.120, with 36 kilos of penalty weight.

Second fastest was Ford Focus driver Tom Chilton, three tenths behind. The gap to the third fastest driver, Shedden’s team mate Matt Neal, was even bigger with 1.064 seconds.

Tom Onslow-Cole claimed fourth fastest time ahead of the improving NGTC specification Proton Gen-2 with Daniel Welch behind the wheel.

James Nash was sixth fastest, close to 1.6 seconds from the fastest time, with Mat Jackson in seventh and Alex MacDowall in eighth. Frank Wrathall secured two NGTC spots in the top ten with ninth fastest time ahead of Tom Boardman.

The session was stopped twice, with the first stop caused by Nick Foster and the second by Martin Byford.
