Jackson: “I’ve never known bad luck like this”
Mat Jackson had a nightmare weekend at Knockhill with zero points and three retirements.
“I’ve never known bad luck like this in all my years of racing,” said Jackson.
The first race saw Jackson retiring with a puncture after contact with Rob Collard. The Ford driver retired again in the second race with a puncture while the third race saw Jackson retiring after contact with Tom Chilton.
“My mistake in race three put an end to our chances of salvaging a result after showing how strong it was coming from last place on the grid, but it’s done and we’ve got to look forward to Rockingham now,” said Jackson.
Jackson still holds the lead in the independents’ championship ahead of the three final races of the season.
“I really like the final three circuits on the calendar and have had wins at all of them before and its wins I really need from now on. The grid is becoming more and more competitive all the time so it will be tough but I know I’m in the right car and with the right team to get the job done,” said Jackson.
BTCC continues at Rockingham on the 18th of September.
