Onslow-Cole and Thompson lose fastest times
Arena’s Tom Onslow-Cole and Motorbase’s James Thompson have lost their fastest times after the stewards judged they set them whilst the yellow flags were out at the end of qualifying.
The two Ford drivers were judged to have set their best times whilst the yellow flag was out at the end of the session after Tony Hughes’ Speedworks Toyota Avensis had crashed out with four minutes to go.
Onslow-Cole had qualified in ninth in the Arena Motorsport Ford Focus, but loses his fastest time of 59.596s and drops to 11th on the grid with his second best lap of 59.657, promoting Frank Wrathall’s Toyota to ninth and Tom Boardman into the top ten in the STR SEAT León.
James Thompson also loses his fastest time of 59.986, but his second fastest time of 1:00.128 was still fast enough to see the two-time Champion keep 15th in the Motorbase Performance Ford Focus ST.
