Supertourers to return to the Silverstone Classic in 2012

After putting together a great event at the Silverstone Classic in 2009, Supertourers plan to return again to the event in 2012 with the best of the super-touring era’s cars at the Classic.

The Silverstone Classic takes place from July 20th to 22nd, and the organisers plan to bring the best of the late 20th century’s touring car series to the Northamptonshire circuit for two exciting race heats.

Touring cars expected to make an appearance range from the ’80s dominant Ford Sierra RS500s and BMW M3 E30s, all the way up to the BTCC’s final super touring era championship winning Ford Mondeo of Alain Menu from 2000.

The event boasts a potential maximum grid of 58 cars, including John Cleland’s Vauxhall Cavalier, Matt Neal’s Nissan Primera as well as cars from other series including the DTM/ITC.
