James Thompson to test for Speedworks Motorsport
James Thompson is going to test for Speedworks Motorsport at Donington Park later this week.
“I’m not really doing much driving at the moment, so when they contacted me and asked me if I’d like to do it, I said yes right away,” said Thompson to Autosport.
Thompson is going to drive the NGTC specification Toyota Avensis that Tony Hughes drove in the BTCC 2011.
“We’ve got tons we want to get through so hopefully we’ll get a break in the weather and, at the end of the day, Tony will be able to see how the car has come on,” said Christian Dick, Team Principal of Speedworks Motorsport to btcc.net.
Thompson was the official test driver for the first NGTC Toyota Avensis prototype in 2010.
“James is a free agent and of course a fantastic driver to have in the car in terms of set-up work and overall development. He was also the test and development driver behind the original NGTC prototype which can only be of added value,” said Dick.
