Honda Civic voted best car of the 2011 BTCC

The Honda Racing Team Civic, which won the teams’, manufacturers/constructors’ and drivers’ championships in 2011 has been voted by TouringCarTimes readers as the best car of the year.

The Civic stormed the vote with 41.8%, with last year’s winner the Chevrolet Cruze trailing behind on 12.7%.

The Civic took five out of 10 pole positions and won 13 out of 30 races, with drivers Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden finishing first and second in the drivers’ championship.

The new Next Generation Touring Car-specification Audi A4 of Rob Austin Racing was a close third, just 1.5 percentage points behind the RML-built Chevrolet Cruze.

The Motorbase Performance-run and Arena-built Ford Focus ST was fourth, with the newer Focus III run by Arena Motorsport in the 2011 season in fifth
