Jason Plato fastest in FP1 at Oulton Park
Championship points leader Jason Plato finished on top the timesheets for Triple Eight Race Engineering in the first free practice session at Oulton Park. The MG driver set a fastest time of 1:37.448 on a wet track while carrying full success ballast.
After leading during the session Mat Jackson finished second for Motorbase Performance. Plato’s team mate Andy Neate finished third in his NGTC MG6, his best session result this season.
Reigning champion Matt Neal set the fourth fastest time for Honda Yuasa Racing ahead of fellow NGTC Honda Civic runner Andrew Jordan. West Surrey Racing’s Nick Foster finished in sixth. His team mates Tom Onslow-Cole and Rob Collard also finished in the top ten, crossing the line in eighth and ninth respectively.
Ahead of them was Adam Morgan who finished in seventh in the Speedworks Toyota Avensis. Dave Newsham rounded out the top ten for ES Racing with a 1.704s gap to leader Jason Plato.
Will Bratt finished the session just outside the top ten in eleventh on his BTCC debut for Rob Austin Racing.
The second practice session is due to take place at 12:30 UK time.
