Plato remains on top in second free practice

Jason Plato confirmed his strong form by setting the fastest time in the second free practice session at Rockingham. The MG6 driver was almost half a second quicker than Andy Jordan, who came second ahead of works Honda drivers Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal.

Mat Jackson improved on this morning’s performance by setting the fifth quickest time, less than five hundredths ahead of Andy Neate in the second MG KX Momentum car.

Rob Austin was seventh ahead of Jeff Smith, a top five runner in the first session. Rob Collard made it to the top ten in ninth ahead of Adam Morgan’s Toyota Avensis.

Next up for the BTCC at Rockingham is the qualifying session, starting at 15.10 GMT.
