Andy Neate given penalty and fine for contact

Triple Eight Race Engineering’s Andy Neate was given a three point endorsement on his racing licence and a £500 fine for an incident with Frank Wrathall’s Toyota in race one.

The 38-year-old was punished for an incident which saw Dynojet Racing’s Frank Wrathall taken out of race one on the final lap, though Wrathall went on to have a more successful day, working his way up to sixth in race two and then taking his first win from second on the grid in the final race.

Neate was also involved in an incident in the second race, going wide at Graham Hill bend and rejoining swiftly, clipping the rear of Adam Morgan’s Toyota, which ended Morgan’s day as well as Aaron Williamson behind who was also caught up in the incident. No penalty was given by the stewards, as after reviewing the data the MG was deemed to be out of control on its return to the track and that Neate was unable to avoid the incident.
