Andy Neate leaves Triple Eight MG squad
Andy Neate will not return to the Triple Eight Race Engineering team in 2013. Neate drove the #44 MG6 GT alongside Jason Plato to 16th place in the drivers’ standings this year.
In the past three seasons, Neate has driven for three different teams, starting with West Surrey Racing in 2010 in the BMW 320si, then joining Arena Motorsport in their new Ford Focus in 2011 before signing on with Triple Eight for the 2012 season.
Neate’s best finish of the season was a sixth place in the first race at Croft, arguably his most successful weekend of the season as he led the third race of the day before falling down the order to ninth position at the end.
Neate told btcc.net:
“I’m no longer with the Triple Eight MG team and that’s my decision. But I am 100 per cent committed to staying on the grid for 2013.”
