Penalties for Rob Collard and Jeff Smith after race two

Rob Collard and Jeff Smith have both been hit with penalties after the second race of the day at Croft.

West Surrey Racing’s Collard was given a one-second penalty for gaining an unfair advantage in his battle with Andrew Jordan, meaning he drops to sixth and Jordan rises to fifth.

The penalty means Collard actually gains a position for the race three grid, and will now start third.

Eurotech Racing’s Smith was given a three-second penalty for the same offence of gaining an unfair advantage, and falls to 10th behind Speedworks Motorsport’s Dave Newsham.

As it is his third penalty of the season, Smith has also been given a six-place grid drop for the final race of the day, and will now start 16th.
