Three out of three for Lea Wood at Snetterton

Jack Sears Trophy leader Lea Wood enjoyed a perfect weekend at Snetterton, taking three wins from three races to further extend his lead in the class.

Wood now has nine wins in his JWT Performance Vauxhall Vectra, five clear of nearest rival Liam Griffin in the Motorbase Performance Ford Focus.

The class may have lost two cars, but Wood more than made up for this by battling with the faster NGTC cars throughout, taking a superb 13th overall in the second race.

Speaking to TouringCarTimes, Wood said: “It went really well – I can’t believe how well the car went. I am over the moon, and didn’t think I would be mixing it with them [the NGTC cars].

“But it is a shame that some of the other boys had trouble. I think Liam [Griffin] didn’t have a very good weekend at all.”

His lead may be growing, but Wood is not letting himself think about tasting the victory champagne just yet.

He said: “I’m not thinking about that yet! Knockhill will probably not suit our car as well as this circuit, but we will certainly give it our best shot.”
