Colin Turkington receives a technical exclusion from race three

West Surrey Racing driver Colin Turkington’s weekend has taken a sudden last minute downturn after he was excluded from race three due for exceeding his boost limit in race three, which now drops him down to fourth in the standings.

The 31-year-old had won both of the first two races of the day at Knockhill and followed this up with a fourth place finish in race three, starting from sixth on the reverse grid, which had seen him move to third in the standings ahead of the Honda of Gordon Shedden.

Turkington’s exclusion means he now loses the 13 points he scored in the final race and drops back behind Shedden in the title hunt. Turkington is now fourth, 30 points adrift of the other Honda of Matt Neal heading to the next round of the Championship at Rockingham.
