Andrew Jordan takes commanding Thruxton pole position
Andrew Jordan claimed a commanding pole position at Thruxton, with the Eurotech driver being close to two tenths faster than the closest rival in the form of Matt Neal in second position.
Just as in the final free practice session, Honda claimed the top three positions with Gordon Shedden in third position, close to three tenths of a second from pole.
Mat Jackson showed improved form in the Motorbase Performance Ford Focus, claiming fourth on the grid.
BTCC rookie Tom Ingram took an impressive fifth in his Speedworks Motorsport prepared Toyota Avensis, with the MG duo of Jason Plato and Sam Tordoff right behind in sixth and seventh position.
The best placed BMW driver was Rob Rollard in eighth position while his team-mate Colin Turkington only managed 13th position on the grid behind Fabrizio Giovanardi’s Ford.
Alain Menu of Team BMR and Adam Morgan, driving for Ciceley Racing, rounded out the top ten.
