Throttle problems hampering Ollie Jackson
Ollie Jackson says throttle problems with his repaired Proton Gen-2 are the cause of his curtailed running at Oulton Park today.
Jackson’s Welch Motorsport team only finished repairing his car yesterday, after his accident at Thruxton last month.
He is hoping to complete a shakedown in qualifying, to do the laps needed to get him on the grid for tomorrow.
“It is the electronic equivalent of a snapped throttle cable,” said Jackson to TouringCarTimes.
“The throttle talks to the body and that talks back to the ECU, and it is that communication which has gone wrong.”
“We might have to swap parts between Dan’s car and mine, which is a bit of a nightmare. I don’t think we will be able to get a throttle body in time for qualifying. But we will be out tomorrow.”
