Ever Franetovich and Leonel Pernía winners of TN at San Jorge

The Argentinian TN (National Touring Cars) visited San Jorge and its three kilometer circuit for the fifth round of the season. Ever Franetovich (Chevrolet Corsa) and Leonel Pernía (Renault Mégane RS) were the winners of Class 2 and 3.

Franetovich set pole position on Friday qualifying with 1:24.530 on what is the home circuit of his team JCB Motorsport.

Despite the chilly conditions on Saturday for the races, the sun shone brilliantly enough to attract a good crowd that watched as Franetovich won the Class 2 category of the race in style.

There was good fights behind the leader, as well as three safety car sessions. Lucas Bagnera (Renault Clio) finished second and Lucas Mohamed (Volkswagen Gol) third, promoting Bagnera to the top of the point standings on 117 points, ahead of Adrián Percaz (Renault Clio) on 113 points and Hanna Abdallah in third on 99 points.

The Class 3 heats were won by Pernía ahead of Iván Saturni (Ford Focus) and Facundo Chapur (Peugeot 308). Pernía won the race despite him having a water hose that came loose from the radiator during last lap, taking the checkered flag with an overheating engine.

Championship leader Matías Rossi only managed 12th position this weekend, which meant that the championship has got several drivers separated by a tiny number of points. Rossi heads the table on 117 points, followed by Facundo Chapur on 108 points and Bruno Bosio on 92 points.

The next race will be a second visit to San Luis on July 13th.
