Penalties for Jordan and Giovanardi after race one (updated)

Andrew Jordan and Fabrizio Giovanardi have been hit with penalties following incidents in the first BTCC race at Croft.

Eurotech Racing’s Jordan has been handed a one-second penalty following contact with Honda Racing Team’s Matt Neal on the first lap, meaning he drops to sixth and Neal has been promoted to fifth.

Motorbase Performance’s Giovanardi was given a reprimand after contact with Team BMR’s Aron Smith at Sunny on lap eight.

As it was his third penalty of the year, he was sent to the back of the grid. But the Italian has appealed his penalty, meaning he keeps his grid slot and the appeal is heard after the race.
