Dan Welch given grid penalty for Silverstone

Dan Welch has been given a five-place grid penalty for Silverstone following an incident with Simon Belcher in the third race at Rockingham today.

The Welch Motorsport driver made contact with Belcher’s Speedworks Motorsport Toyota Avensis going through the ultra-fast turn one on the penultimate lap, causing him to spin.

Welch has also been given three points on his competition licence.

There were no other penalties from race three, or either of the first two races.
