West Surrey Racing plan “major announcement” at Autosport Show

Reigning BTCC champions West Surrey Racing are set to make a “major driver and sponsorship” announcement at the Autosport International Show on Thursday, where 2013 champion Andrew Jordan will formally unveil his programme for the new season.

Dick Bennetts’ squad will unveil one of Sam Tordoff’s team-mates on the Autosport Stage at the Birmingham NEC, while Jordan’s new car will feature on the BTCC stand.

While Thursday will be the first public unveiling of Jordan’s car for the season, he tweeted earlier today to confirm that his drive will be announced on Wednesday. He is widely expected to leave Eurotech Racing, having thanked them in an earlier tweet yesterday.

Jordan said: “I’m really excited about the new challenge that’s ahead of me in 2015. It’s something I’m looking forward to telling everyone about at Autosport International, as we start the new season.”

Both WSR and Jordan’s cars will remain on display in their 2015 liveries for the full four days of the show, which will feature appearances from a number of BTCC drivers.

Jordan’s car will be accompanied on the BTCC display by 2014 race winner Rob Austin’s Audi and the factory-backed Infiniti Q50 from the new Support Our Paras Racing programme, both unveiling the liveries they’ll carry this year.

Also at the NEC, the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class of the BTCC’s youngest driver, Aiden Moffat, will be revealed on the stand of artist PopbangColour.

Drivers appearing at the show include Austin, Support Our Paras Racing’s Derek Palmer and Richard Hawken, 2014 champion Colin Turkington, and Honda duo Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden.
