“More to come” from Civic Type-R says Gordon Shedden
Gordon Shedden says there is still a lot more to come from the Honda Civic Type R despite two trips to the podium at Donington Park.
The 2012 champion visited both the second and third steps in the first and third race respectively, but still believes that the car is not where it needs to be.
“We’ve still got a lot of work to do,” Shedden told TouringCarTimes. “The car’s not where it needs to be at the minute. It’s fast but it’s still got problem areas. It’s just with it being new, but we’ll get there with it, certainly not with a lack of trying. Gives us a month or so to try and understand it and we’ll see how it goes.”
Shedden said that despite their position in the championship, the team will still turn up at Thruxton with realistic expectations and will be trying to learn as much about the car as possible.
“You try and learn as much as you can,” he continued. “You do everything you think is sensible but occasionally you get thrown a curveball thrown. We’re kinda two steps forward, one step back, another one to the side so it’s taking a bit of working out at the minute.”
