Jason Plato secures race two pole with fastest lap
Jason Plato will start the second race at Thruxton from pole position after setting the fastest lap in race one.
The Team BMR driver finished fourth in his Volkswagen CC behind podium sitters Gordon Shedden, Matt Neal and Adam Morgan, but his lap time of 1:17.388 was good enough to see him take pole for race two.
West Surrey Racing’s Rob Collard will line up second after Triple Eight Racing’s Jack Goff had his best time disallowed, with Ciceley Racing’s Adam Morgan third and race one winner Gordon Shedden fourth.
West Surrey Racing’s Andy Priaulx will start fifth after Matt Neal also had his best time removed, and Aron Smith will have a chance at redemption starting sixth.
Eurotech Racing’s Jeff Smith pulled an impressive seventh fastest lap out of the bag to line up on the fourth row, joined by Josh Cook, who put in another strong display in the Power Maxed Racing Chevrolet Cruze.
Rounding out the top 10 are Neal and Goff after their respective demotions.
