Penalties for four drivers and one team after Thruxton

Four drivers and one team were penalised by the stewards following the weekend’s action at Thruxton.

AmD Tuning’s Mike Bushell was given a verbal warning for the incident with Speedworks Motorsport’s Simon Belcher on Saturday, which left the Ford driver with severe ligament damage. As it is his third penalty of the season, he will start from the back of the grid when he returns to the championship.

On Sunday, Speedworks Motorsport’s Tom Ingram was given a verbal warning for an incident with Team BMR’s Warren Scott in race one, while Honda Racing Team’s Matt Neal was given a verbal warning for an incident with Team BMR’s Aron Smith in race two.

Also in race two, Rob Austin Racing’s Hunter Abbott was given a verbal warning for an incident with Scott, where he made contact with the Volkswagen CC which in turn hit and spun West Surrey Racing’s Andy Priaulx.

Finally, Welch Motorsport have been deducted 10 points for changing more than the allotted three engines in a season. However, the rules have changed this year so teams cannot have minus points in the standings, so the team remains on zero.
