Stewart Lines’ Toyota to be repaired in time for race two

JWT Performance’s Stewart Lines will return to the Oulton Park grid for the second race, after swift repair work by his team following his crash in the first encounter.

Lines tangled with Team Parker Racing’s Alex Martin exiting Deer Leap on lap 12 and hit the Armco on the pit entrance, causing the race to be red-flagged.

But despite a hefty-looking impact, Lines was quickly released from the medical centre and will return for the second race in around an hour’s time.

Speaking to TouringCarTimes, team manager Lea Wood said: “It’s just had a lot of panel damage, undertrays and bonnets, front bumpers and intakes, stuff like that.

“Swindon have checked the engine and we’re just starting it up now.

“Stewart is alright. We took him to the medical centre to get him checked over and he’s fine. He’s now off having lunch!”
