Andrew Jordan confident with MG potential after double podium

Andrew Jordan is confident going in to the remainder of the season after a steady Oulton Park saw the 2013 champion leave Cheshire in fourth in the standings.

The Triple Eight Racing driver took fourth in race one, third in race two and second in race three, his strongest weekend of the year, and was pleased to leave with a strong points haul, having been “patient”over the first three meetings.

“Second, third and a fourth is a good day,” said Jordan, speaking to TouringCarTimes. “We’ve made strides. We’ve been patient over the first three rounds and just collected points where we could, and now I feel very confident going on for the rest of the year.”

Despite taking two trophies home with him, Jordan was more happy to put a healthy points total on the board in what is becoming a very close championship, with the top four drivers separated by just thirteen points.

“It’s always nice taking trophies home but more importantly its the points you take home from weekends like this,” he said. “I think the top four are separated by 13 points so its very close, were fully in the hunt. We’ll keep on doing what we’re doing, keep our heads down, our mouths shut and just keep on going.”

The championship now moves on to Croft, a circuit that has not been the best of friends to the MG6, but Jordan is confident the team has made improvements in the right areas to put on a strong performance at the Yorkshire circuit.

“Yes it hasn’t been the MG’s best circuit but its not as the MG was there last year,” said Jordan. “We’ll have to keep our heads down and keep working at it and look what improvements we can make. We’ll look to do some testing before then, we’ve got a lot of test items to try. This has given us all a sort of boost, this sort of weekend where we’re starting to fulfil the potential we know the MG’s got. I’m quite relieved to be back where I think the MG should be to be honest.”
