Andrew Jordan fastest in split FP2
Andrew Jordan was quickest in a split FP2, holding back the Team BMR trio of Colin Turkington, Jason Plato and Aron Smith.
As was the case in FP1, it took almost a quarter of the session for competitive times to start being put in, with Jason Plato taking the fastest time, which he held for only a couple of minutes before Aron Smith leaped in to the top spot by less than a tenth of a second.
Andy Priaulx was once again near the top, only a couple of tenths behind the Team BMR duo, while Tom Ingram continued his season-long form of fast practice times, sitting in fourth for almost the entire 40 minute session.
Practice was then halted near the halfway stage when Aiden Moffat went off between Riches and Montreal, forcing the marshals to throw a red flag and bring all cars in to the pits. Moffat was taken to hospital for precautionary checks after showing signs of concussion.
With the clock stopped at 20 minutes, the session was effectively split into two twenty minute sessions, with no real improvement coming in the first ten minutes of the second session. However, as the final five minutes loomed, Jason Plato jumped to the top of the time sheets with a 1:56.583.
The final two minutes saw a late burst of speed from the Triple Eight Racing MG6s, with Jack Goff jumping up to fourth before Andrew Jordan, in his new chrome-liveried car, set the absolute best time of the session.
Colin Turkington then appeared to be on for a fastest lap, but had to settle for second fastest at the line, ahead of Plato, Smith and Priaulx. Jack Goff, Tom Ingram, Dave Newsham, Rob Collard and Matt Neal rounded out the top ten.
