Andrew Jordan feels he’s “most comfortable all year” in car
Andrew Jordan said he was the “most comfortable in the car all year” as he took fourth place in qualifying at Snetterton.
The 2013 champion was the fastest non-Team BMR driver, who took the top three positions, and was happy with the performance when compared to previous times around the Norfolk circuit.
“I’m happy with the time,” Jordan told TouringCarTimes. “A pole here was a 1:56.4 last year and I did a 56.2 in the car. The VW is very streamlined in the straight so we always knew it was going to be tough to beat them. I’m really happy with the lap, it was a nice lap, especially with the weight we’ve got on.”
Historically Snetterton has been kind to both MG and Andrew Jordan, with Jordan taking two wins and Triple Eight’s MGs taking four wins in their three years in the series. With success for both car and driver in the past, combining the two has left Jordan feeling confident heading in to Sunday’s three races.
“I think this is the most comfortable I’ve been in the car all year in that qualifying session,” he continued. “I’m feeling positive and a lot more confident in the car so it’ll be interesting to see how the other three [Team BMR cars] play it in front.”
This weekend also sees Jordan wearing a special livery to mark the signing of a new three year deal with long-time sponsor Pirtek, a deal that Jordan is proud to be a part of.
“I’ve been talking to them for a long time,” he said. “It’s nice to get it completely signed off, we speak on a regular basis I knew it was in the pipeline, which was nice, but to get it finally signed off I’m very proud and chuffed with it.”
