Robb Holland “not here to make up the numbers” and aiming for points

Robb Holland was happy to be back in the BTCC at Snetterton, but was quick to state he’s not back to “make up the numbers” and has his eyes set firmly on points scoring results.

Sitting in for Simon Belcher at Handy Motorsports, Holland set the 26th fastest time in FP1, but believes there is much more to come from the Toyota Avensis.

“It’s always great to be back,” Holland told TouringCarTimes. “The fans are great and seeing all the guys again is really good so yeah, I’m happy to be here.

“[The car felt] better than the test session, we made a bunch of big changes for it. We’re still struggling a bit with understeer through all the fast stuff which is killing us on the exit, but I think if we can get that cured and be a second, second and a half quicker, that’s where we want to be.”

The American driver, who has previously raced for Tony Gilham Racing and Rotek Racing, is aiming to come away from Norfolk with points to his name, as well as improving the car for the team as a whole.

“You always want points, I’m not just here to make up the numbers,” he continued. “You’re here to push and fight and do the best you can to score for the team. Simon bought me on to help move the car forward and we’re substantially faster than where they were last year and I think there’s more to come. Working with the Speedworks guys has been really good to get the car dialled in.”
