Adam Morgan “chuffed to bits” with race two podium

Adam Morgan was “chuffed to bits” to hold back Andy Priaulx with an incredibly strong defensive drive in the second race at Snetterton.

Morgan jumped up to second from the start and appeared to be comfortable, before three-time World Champion Priaulx slowly starting to catch the Mercedes driver.

“It was incredibly hard work,” Morgan told TouringCarTimes. “I thought I got the break on Andy to begin with but he slowly reeled me back in and then for the rest of the race it was keep my eyes in the mirror. I’m chuffed to bits that I kept him behind. The car was mega and a massive thanks to all our sponsors and on to the next race.”

Morgan will start from fifth in race three and has stated he feels confident with the car, hoping he will be able to match the same level of performance with the additional success ballast in the third encounter.

“We hope we can put in another good performance,” he continued. “The car did feel good, I had the pace. I know a few of these lads were carrying the weight, we had a little bit on. Hopefully we can manage the weight and find the performance in the case and see where we end up.”
