Winning BTCC tenders to be announced after Knockhill
The winning tenders to supply the next set of stock engine and chassis components to the BTCC will be announced after Knockhill, series director Alan Gow has confirmed.
As previously reported by TouringCarTimes, Swindon; RML; Mountune; Neil Brown Engineering and Cosworth have all submitted bids to supply the stock TOCA engine from the 2017 season.
The supply of the stock chassis components for the 2016 season is also out to tender, although no interested parties have been publicly disclosed to date.
Other components of the NGTC regulations such as brakes and gearbox have not gone out to tender, and will be renewed with their existing suppliers AP Racing & Xtrac respectively.
“We’re going through all of them now and we will make the announcement after Knockhill,” said Gow to TouringCarTimes.
“That’s for the chassis and engine. All the other ones like the gearbox and brakes roll over anyway – the two main ones are the chassis and engine. The others get automatically renewed.”
It was announced last month that TOCA had successfully re-applied for the MSA tender to run the BTCC until at least 2021, which has allowed them to proceed with their own tender processes.
